Your Soddy-Daisy Community Library was created for the community and we will remain a central service for our patrons. The policies and procedures included with this page have been enacted to keep our patrons and volunteers safe during this COVID-19 pandemic.
These policies and procedures are subject to change at anytime and without notice as we assess risk and conditions on a daily basis.

SDCL will to operate with shortened Hours Monday- Friday 11-2
Patrons may continue to come into the library using social distancing guidelines.
No more than 5 people may be inside the library at any time. This number includes the number of volunteers.

Executive order 2020-16 requires additional distancing measures. Browsing inside the library is suspended until the order is revoked. Curbside pick up is still available. No Entry into the library will be allowed.

Entry once again allowed - Masks are required on all patrons 12 years of age and older. Masks are preferred on all children if possible. Social distancing still in effect.
Update August 1, 2020 - New hours announced Sunday-Monday - Closed : Tuesday Volunteer Work Day : Wednesday - Friday OPEN 11 AM - 6 PM : Saturday OPEN 11 AM - 4 PM

Handling of books
Effective March 13, 2020 - All books returned will go into quarantine for 72 hours prior to being re-shelved and made available for check out.
If you are in the library, and touch a book, and decided not to check it out, please place the book on the floor and a volunteer will disinfect the material and re-shelve it for you.

Events
Effective March 13 - all event and gatherings have been cancelled until deemed safe for all patrons to gather as per CDC guidelines.

Social Distancing
To stay in accord with CDC guidelines only 15 people in total (this includes volunteers) are allowed within the library at one time. You will be stopped at the door until someone exists to insure this number does not exceed 15. A 6 foot minimum distance is required between guests.
Bathrooms are no longer available to our guests as we can not purchase enough materials to sanitize after every use.

Volunteers
90% of our volunteers are at high risk and while some are opting to stay home, others continue to come in for shortened hours. For their safety and for the safety of all our patrons do not enter our library if you have a fever or have been exposed to this virus on any level.
Effective March 18 - timer alarms every hour indicate to all staff that it is time to wash hands. This is an added safety precaution.

Food Assistance
Your SDCL has once again teamed up with the YMCA Mobile Fit program and encourage any student 18 and younger, to visit our library Monday-Friday 11:30 AM until 12:15 PM to obtain a free bag lunch.
This is a grab and go service offered free of charge.
Any senior citizen in need of food is allowed to participate as well.
Please consume all lunches at your home as there will be no eating allowed in the library during these times.

Curbside Pickup
For all patrons who do not wish to enter public spaces. We understand and your Soddy-Daisy Community Library is here for you.
